Thanks for a Great Summer 2009

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

Well the band had its final summer concert this afternoon and it couldn’t have been better than to celebrate it in Indian Head Park for the village’s 50th anniversary. A special thanks goes out to everyone who came out and saw us play this summer. Also a big thanks to all of those band members who put in their time for the whirlwind 14 concert summer.

The band is currently off now until the end of September when fall rehearsals begin again. We do not yet have an exact date, but keep an eye on this website for more information. We hope to see everyone at the first rehearsal in the next month or two.

A Brief Moment in the Spotlight

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

The band had a brief moment in the spotlight this past weekend associated with the recent announcement of the newest supreme court judge nominee. The band’s very own accomplished oboe player, Diane Wood was not only in the running for the surpreme court nomination, but also was featured briefly with the band on the local 6 o’clock news as we performed during our Memorial Day Concert in Western Springs this past Monday. The band and Diane are featured at the 31 second mark.

btw….Congrats to Diane, we are sure you will get the next nomination ;)
