The Moraine Valley Community College Academic Music Department has invited the West Suburban Concert Band and three other area concert bands to perform at their event on Saturday, April 7, at 7 p.m., in Building G gymnasium, at the college, 9000 W. College Parkway.
Admission is free.
This will be the first time since 2014 that the groups have gotten together to perform. This is a great way for concert bands to join together and perform great concert band music to be enjoyed by them and their audience.
The concert will feature the Moraine Valley Concert Band, directed by Douglass Bratt; Tinley Park Community Band, directed by Barbara Abarro; West Suburban Concert Band, directed by Hank Hiorns; and the Joliet American Legion Band, under the direction of Kevin Macha.
Each band will perform selections that include traditional concert band melodies, show tunes, movie themes, and concert marches. The bands will combine to perform the “Star Spangled Banner,” and “America the Beautiful,” and will close the concert with John Phillip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.”
Come out and enjoy an evening of great music by some great local area concert bands!
The band is always looking for photos from our audience members from our concerts. Photos will be used to create albums on this website from the concert and on the band's Facebook page for promotional purposes. If you have photos of the band that you would like to share, please contact us at the link above or at email@example.com
